The Métis Nation of Ontario wants you to participate in our first ever Métis Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge.
This challenge involves three phases that will refine your entrepreneurship skills.
Phase One of the Generation Innovation challenge is to think about your business or business idea! What stage is your business at? Have you developed a concept? Have you written a business plan? Are you already generating sales? It doesn’t matter what stage you’re at, as long as you’re thinking about it! Is there a really cool business idea that you’ve been waiting to share? Well now’s the time to try it out!
Think about what it’s like to be an entrepreneur. Did you know that as Métis, we have a long cultural history of entrepreneurship? From the early days of the fur traders to Generation Innovation, it’s in your genes! If you’re the best person to run this business, tell us why! Think of the advantages your business has over the competitors and what makes yours different.
Think about all of this and then write it down in the application form found here.
After all applications have been received, the top most promising business ideas with the best case for support will receive FREE training and coaching by business professionals.
You could receive business financial advice from RBC or have a local successful businessperson mentor you on the ins and outs of entrepreneurship and what it’s like to own your own business.
We will match selected candidates up with mentors including Roger Lauzon of Techno Metal Post, and Ryan Foley from Novacare Health Sciences. These mentors will aid in business, marketing, and budgeting plans, allowing you to grow your entrepreneurial skills through real-world experience.
Why is this so important? Because at the end of Phase Two, you’ll have everything you need to refine your business plan and be an expert at “the pitch.” PLUS you’ll be eligible to be a finalist to attend Phase Three – an all expenses paid trip to Toronto for the Generation Innovation Skills Summit!
Top contestants will receive an all expenses paid trip to Toronto where you’ll attend the Generation Innovation Skills Summit in Toronto ¬– Ontario’s capital and the Capital of Canadian Business. Energize your business idea at an intensive one-day training session then pitch your business to a panel of the most successful business owners, entrepreneurs and industry leaders in Canada.
Get advice and feedback from industry experts that you can use to turn your business idea into a reality!
