Scholarships and Bursaries
The citizens of the Métis Nation of Ontario are well aware that the future strength of Métis culture rests in the hands of Métis youth. As a consequence, the MNO has focused a great deal of attention on training and education. It encourages youth to participate at every level in the conduct of MNO affairs.

Through a partnership with the Province of Ontario, the MNO established a bursary trust fund at 32 colleges and universities in the amount of $4.2 million. Because of this program, the province contribute over $2 million to a perpetual fund in which bursaries are paid from the interest accumulate annually.

To find out more about scholarships and bursaries contact the financial aid office at the institution you plan to attend. To find out more about educational opportunities for Métis, contact the MNOTI field office nearest you.

Métis Scholarship & Bursary Program (MSB)

The MSBP helps Métis pursuing education attain financial assistance in pursuit of vocational goals and post-secondary education. In partnership with various Ontario colleges and universities, Human Resources Development Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Education & Training, the MNO has established Endowment Awards for Métis Students in 32 Ontario post-secondary institutions under the Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund. Each award is backed by a trust fund that will allow these awards to be available annually.
