Vacancies on Women’s Secretariat of the Métis Nation of Ontario (WSMNO)

To Community Councils,

At the 2006 Annual General Assembly the Terms of Reference was passed thus forming a new revamped Women’s organization within the Métis Nation of Ontario that is called the “Women’s Secretariat of the Métis Nation of Ontario” (WSMNO). This committee of volunteers is made up of the following

Barbara Parker – Western Representative
Evelyn Powley – Northern Representative
Carmen Gravel – Eastern Representative
Vacant – Southern Representative
Audrey Vallee – Senator Advisor appointed by the PCMNO
Sharon McBride- Spokesperson appointed by the PCMNO

The WSMNO is a women’s collective body representing the interest and aspirations of the women citizens of the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) and is officially mandated by the MNO as a lobbyist and advocacy body recognized to speak and represent the women’s agenda and prospective of the women citizens of the MNO. The WSMNO will work within the MNO for the betterment of the Métis Nation as a whole through empowerment and participation of the Métis Nation women in Ontario. We are currently looking for a women representative for the Southern area of Ontario the duties of the committee members are as follows

Look after the concerns of women’s representatives from the Community Councils within Southern Ontario
Representatives of the WSMNO will work towards the vision, mandate purpose and objectives of the WSMNO as determined in the terms of reference that was passed at the 2006 AGA
The committee members of the WSMNO will work on issues that affect the provincial prospective of the women citizens of the MNO
