IPS Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Coordinator

Salary range: $38,700- $44,520 (annually)

Summary of Position:

This role will involve financial tasks primarily assisting the IPS branch with AR/AP functions, administrative support and data entry. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Follows and supports branch the Financial Policies and Procedures to process finance-related documentation
  2. Coordinate the processing of financial administrative and operational directives including but limited to administer day-to-day finances comprising  timely online banking payments and transfers
  3. Answer direct internal communications, and/or Responds to external information requests (phone calls, e-mails, etc.) May included Assisting staff with client needs,  service supports, Coordinates meetings, events, and training sessions to build knowledge and awareness
  4. Secure authorization for ordering and payment of goods and services as to funding agreements
  5. Advise employees making procurement requests of centrally negotiated suppliers and pricing models
  6. Resolve issues raised by vendors, suppliers, or within the MNO from time to time
  7. Assists in developing portfolio budgets, monthly reconciliation and  prepares financial reports monthly/ quarterly/ annual
  8. Assist the planning the IPS  long-term financial goals and protecting future assets
  9. Create monthly/ Quarterly/ Annual  invoices
  10. Assist staff with  expense claims and creation of IPS Corp Purchase orders
  11. Maintain a high-level of confidentiality

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:


  • Strong desire to act in the service of the Métis Citizens, to advance and uphold rights and culture 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook(Email)
  • Communications skills
  • Organization skills and time/priority-management
  • Ability to work alone/independently with minimal supervision


  • Proficiency in standard office equipment
  • Advance Knowledge of Excel and Accounting Software
  • Knowledge of Accounting Software 
  • Advanced communications skills


  • Bilingualism
  • Knowledge of indigenous (preferably Métis) culture, issues, and current activities.




    • Diploma or certifcate in accounting and one to two years related experience 
    • A combination of education and experience in lieu of above 
  • Customer service experience
  • Demonstrative administrative experience



  • Demonstrated experience working in coordinating and delivering community-based programs or projects

Positions at the MNO may require the following:

  1. Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain
  2. Completion and maintenance of Background check and employment verification 
  3. A reliable vehicle (or ability to rent), driver’s licence, $1,000,000 liability insurance, and a clean driving record
  4. Flexibility to work extended hours as necessary
  5. Ability to occasionally travel and stay at remote locations for limited periods of time
