Buying Textiles to Help Mayan Women and their Children

Far too many children in Guatemala are completely dependent on the sales of textiles and curios that their mothers sell on the sidewalks and parks of Guatemala. Mayan women work untold hours to weave beautiful materials only to be sold at bargain basement prices.

The products are striking and plentiful. Many Métis people would like to have them in their homes while at the same time helping out the families through their purchases. Tony and Danielle are willing to take orders for purchases, buy the best quality at fair value and arrange for shipment back home to Canada. On the website you will find photos which show a variety of products including tablecloths, tablemats, napkins, blankets, wall hangings and other goods such as wood carvings and curios along with general prices ranges.

Those interested in having Tony and Danielle purchase any of these goods can do so by sending an email to them at: tonyb@metisnation.org. Please send details of the products desired as well as sizes, color schemes and quantities. Arrangements will be made for delivery and payment when Tony and Danielle return. Their goal on this visit is to establish a means for purchase and shipment over the long term through an agent who would do so on our behalf in Guatemala.
