Schools for Isolated Villages Campaign A volunteer project of the Metis Nation of Ontario
Karole Dumont-Beckett and her husband Glen have been contributing to international funds for children for years. Hearing that MNO President Tony Belcourt is going to Guatemala this February, and knowing of the plight and need of schools for children she and her husband decided to pledge $300 per year for the next 5 years. When Senator Reta Gordon learned about this, she immediately offered to match the gift. Thus began the idea for this fundraising campaign. more >>>

The Metis Nation of Ontario has long seen the value of advanced information and communications technologies. The MNO makes maximum use of internet technology through its websites and has recently begun to establish video-conferencing facilities at its head office and its community councils. Buying Textiles to Help Mayan Women and their Children
Far too many children in Guatemala are completely dependent on the sales of textiles and curios that their mothers sell on the sidewalks and parks of Guatemala. Mayan women work untold hours to weave beautiful materials only to sell them at bargain basement prices. Many Métis people would like to have theses beautiful products in their homes while helping out the families through their purchases. more >>>
