Graduate gains a better life thanks to MNO assistance

Katrina’s parents were unable to provide her with financial assistance and she only received income from a part-time job where she worked a sparse 10 hours per week.

At a loss, Katrina reached out to the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) for assistance through MNO employment and training programs.

Thanks to the MNO, Katrina was able to complete her studies and receive her diploma as a certified esthetician.  She was able to focus on her studies without worrying, knowing her finances were secure.

Today, Katrina works at Nails Plus by Nicole providing manicures, gel nails, pedicures, waxing, facials, body treatments and many other cosmetic services to her clients.

“If it weren’t for the MNO, I would not have been able to go to school and become what I am today,” she said.

Since gaining employment in her chosen field, Katrina’s life has improved.  It never feels like work now that she does what she loves for a living.
