INDIGENOUS WOMEN IN TRADES

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is pleased to offer a fully funded eight-month training program with an eight-week work placement in Pre-Trades for the Energy Industry for Ontario self-identified Indigenous participants. This program provides training in the energy sector field on electrical techniques, welding techniques, and Industrial Maintenance Techniques. Following the in-class training participants will proceed to paid work placements with partners in the energy industry. Work placements will provide vital experience that will allow participants to continue on in the skilled trades and/or other employment.

Through this program participants will gain access to career counselling and resume support from the MNO and its partners. Through this program all eligible expenses are covered including tuition; books and supplies; safety equipment; living allowance; dependent care; and travel. The program is geared towards woman but is open to all Métis, First Nations, and Inuit people.
