Métis Nation of Ontario Economic Development (MNOED)
initiative was established to assist Métis communities
across the province in developing economic self-sufficiency.
Partnership
Development Advisor
Based
on the Working Partnerships Program, the objective of this
role is to help create or identify opportunities for Aboriginal
people by facilitating partnerships between the Aboriginal
community and the corporate/private sector.
Generally, the PDA will help enable, improve and
contribute to economic development within the Aboriginal Community
in Ontario, through the following measures:
- Act
as a resource and facilitator by helping to identify and
develop partnership development between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal
private sector business communities
- Assist
or provide advise on the delivery of related business/technical
workshops, forums, and presentations, to help meet business
goals
- Assist
Aboriginal citizens to identify resources available to help
attain their partnership goals
- Distribute
Aboriginal partnership development information and kits
to related organizations and agencies.
- Develop
relationships, liaise and communicate with private &
public sector stakeholders, in association with existing
Aboriginal organizations
- Identify
and help to reduce barriers to Aboriginal partnership development

Aboriginal Business Service Network
The
Aboriginal Business Service Network (ABSN) was implemented
to help bridge the gap between business information and resources
for the Aboriginal client. The ABSN provides timely relevant
business information to Aboriginal clients who access the
site via the Internet, telephone, fax or walk-in.
The Aboriginal Business Service Network is sponsored by the
Canada Ontario Business Service Centre (COBSC) and the Federal
Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor).
ABSN Services:
- Information
or guidance concerning business planning and operations
by qualified coordinators/advisors;
- On-line
access to information and data services provided by the
COBSC;
- Access
to a comprehensive library of business publications, resources
and directories
