The work placement initiative for the program is to provide real work experience within the mining industry which will eventually lead to fulfilling employment.
Work placements are specific to the student enrolled in the program and will be negotiated and connected to the company partners. They will be managed on an individual basis based on availability, location and position sought by the student.
The wage subsidy is available to assist with a variety of work experience opportunities such as:
- Positions for graduation requirements or during the training/educational programs (apprenticeships, internships, summer career placement positions, Co-ops, etc)
- Post-graduate work experience
The MNO can subsidize work placements for a maximum of 30hr/wk for 12 weeks.
