The
Métis Health Human Resources Initiative is a four year
national program funded through Health Canada. The intent
of the program is to lay the foundation for longer term systemic
change in the supply and demand for Métis health human
resources.

The intent
of continuing education award is to support Métis health
professionals who provide services to Métis people
in Ontario to enhance their education. All applications are
assessed in accordance with established criteria. Funding
can be awarded to a maximum of $5000. If you have financial
need over and above the maximum amounts allowed under this
program you are allowed to apply under the Busary Program
as well. Continuing
education awards do not have to be repaid to MNO.
ELIGIBILITY
CRITERIA:
You are
eligible for financial assistance if you are:
A
Resident of Ontario for at least one year, or originally
from Ontario and planning to work in Ontario after completion
of education
Have
proof of Métis ancestry
Course
must be of 4-6 months duration
Working
in a career in health as per list of eligible careers and
providing services to Métis people in Ontario
Continuing
Education for Health Professionals and Paraprofessionals:

Letter
of Personal Introduction indicating the reasons for your
career choice, your career aspirations and future professional
relationship with the Métis community and how the
training will assist you in your career of choice (maximum
