Emergency
Repair Program (ERP)
Purpose of the Program
To assist eligible homeowners or occupiers in rural
areas to undertake emergency repairs required for the
continued safe occupancy of their houses. A significant
portion of this program is directed to the Native people
of Canada .
Who is Eligible
You may be eligible for this program if:
- you live in a rural area. (Population
of 2500 or less)
- your house requires urgent repairs
- your total household income is below
the income ceiling.
Eligible Repairs
You will be assisted only for those repairs urgently
required to make your home safe. Included are repairs
to:
- Foundations
- Walls (Interior and Exterior)
- Floors and Ceilings
- Painting
- Doors/Windows
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Heating
Eligible Costs
Funds are for the purchases of materials and for contractor
labour.
Assistance
The financial assistance is in the form of a grant,
which does not have to be repaid. The maximum grant
is $6,000.00.

The Districts/County Thunder Bay, Kenora, Rainy River,
Algoma, Cochrane, Nipissing, Parry Sound, Haliburton,
Simcoe, Muskoka . Information on all other area
