The Métis
Training Strategy can be used in to develop the capacity of
the Métis community in Ontario to develop and deliver
quality training programs that will contribute to planning
and strategies for training. MTS is also designed to encourage
communities to take responsibility for their own employment
and training related needs by building on the capacities and
strengths of organizations and relationships that currently
exist.
Criteria:
•
Projects should consider Labour Market Information in the
community;
• Projects need to demonstrate the support of the community;
• Projects need to demonstrate direction for training
programs;
• Curriculum must be aligned with accreditation;
• Community partners must possess the appropriate
qualifications and expertise to develop, implement and manage
the project;
Eligible Employers:
•
For-profit organizations, incorporated or unincorporated,
including partnerships and sole proprietorships
• self-employed persons
• private health and educational institutions
• Native organizations
• Non-profit groups
