Angela is an Ojibway youth from Wikewemikong First Nation located on Manitoulin Island, in Ontario. Following the completion of High School, Angela left home town to discover Sault Saint Marie Community College, successfully completing her Native Community Diploma and Addictions Counselling. Almost immediately, Angela switched gears by opting for the 4 year - Physical Health and Education program where she specialized in the Outdoor Adventure Leadership at Laurentian University . During this time she worked with the Canadian Outward Bound Wilderness School delivering a CHOICES Program.

Following the completion of this program, Angela interned with Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Centre , where she quickly moved through the ranks, becoming Lead Instructor. During the down season Angela moved back home to Wikwemikong where she readily accepted the challenge to work as the Director for the Wikwemikong Wilderness Program and “The Path We Walk” Coordinator.

Subsequently to this Angela went to Boston, Massachusetts where she joined up with Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Centre starting as an Instructor delivering Canoe, Backpacking, Rock climbing, Whitewater Kayaking Courses. It wasn’t long before Angela then became the Course Director for an all- girls, ages 10-13, program called “Connecting with Courage” which included organizing and overseeing six to eight simultaneous courses in the field.

Angela has moved around the United States and Canada and has recently moved to Ottawa. The outdoors has always intrigued her and she feels at home while she is on the water.
