Starting Salary: $54,410-$62,590, per year based on experience.

The Role
Technical resources who play a leadership role in guiding and organizing the work of others, scheduling work, identifying problems and challenges with delivery or quality, and resolving (or elevating) as required. The Team Leader provides coaching to their team to ensure performance and quality objectives are met, motivates from a peer-to-peer perspective, and deals with day to day employee needs.
Specifically, the Team Lead- ELCC Education Support Advocates will support and offer guidance program teams and staff on best practices in serving Ontario Métis community families within the various programs within the ELCC ESA Program. The incumbents must have strong organizational and leaderships skills to facilitate planning and help coordinate ELCC ESA’s for MNO citizens and their children so they may reach their full potential and have access to quality advocacy other supports. The incumbents should show leadership through exemplary practices in client file management, as well as by identifying opportunities for improvements and greater efficiencies forward.
Overview of Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assists with the hiring and training of team members
2. Oversees the daily workflow; oversees scheduling and assignments of the assigned team.
3. Supports the creation of performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
4. Ensures that the necessary equipment is available and in working order to complete assignments.
5. Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives.
6. Maintains detailed and accurate work records using various ELCC specific reporting mechanisms
7. Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness; implements viable ideas.
8. Supports the resolution of conflicts that arise among team members and/or other employees.
9. Other reasonable duties as may be assigned
Branch Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
• Point of contact for general emails and inquires for ELCC support. This includes monitoring the ELCC general email, answering phone calls, and redirecting requests to the correct ELCC program coordinator
• Review progress of a file throughout the duration of involvement with the program – constant dialogue with staff on progress, oversight of case files to ensure notes and all paperwork per file have been maintained and are up to date
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of ELCC Family Support online application portals and review progress of existing client applications.
• Coordinate with program supervision and management regarding efficient and effective assignment of resources per client
• Be available to MNO’s staff to consult and support on services and resources available for their client(s)
• Work directly with MNO’s Early Learning and Child Care staff to provide support in the provision of services and support. This also includes hosting meetings or conferences to ensure that client cases remain on target
• Utilization of the MNO’s data bases to ensure program efficiencies and effectiveness – accountable to maintain data base(s) and ensure staff are appropriately using this for purpose of proper file management and overall program evaluation
• Actively and independently keep up-to-date on education services available across the Province for adults, children, youth and families
• When directed, represent the MNO at community events
• Develop new collaborations and partnerships as directed
• Implement annual project work plans and activity reports
Administrative/Operational Duties:
• Provision of services to program clients
• Maintaining client files and ensuring that the records are reflective of the care being provided. Managing the opening and closing of files.
• Conducting file audits and reporting upon request discrepancies to program supervision or management.
• Maintain data bases and prepare data for the purpose of program management, evaluation and reporting.

Qualifications
Required:
• Strong desire to act in the service of the Métis Citizens, to advance and uphold rights and culture
• A post-secondary degree in a related field (preferred in business or management, early childhood education or social work )
• Excellent management and interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to motivate team to accomplish objectives.
• Ability to solve conflicts among coworkers.
• Ability to remain organized.
• Basic understanding of records, inventories, and other routine documentation used in the warehouse.
Preferred:
• Proficiency in standard office equipment
• Knowledge of Métis-specific and broader Aboriginal key challenges, and programs
• A post-secondary degree or certification in business or management.
Assets:
• Bilingualism
• Ability to work alone/independently with minimal supervision
Experience
Required – Previous 2 years or more experience in a similar/comparable role
Assets – Demonstrated ability to effectively maintain financial records, manage project budgets
