On Sunday, July 26, in Timmins, the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) will be hosting a community information session with the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NMWO) to provide an update regarding their Adaptive Phased Management process (APM). The session will not only include a presentation from members of NWMO, but will also serve as an opportunity for a facilitated community discussion wherein questions and concerns may be voiced. The activities will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. dinner being served.
These questions and more will frame the guided discussion that will follow the community information session and lunch. In this visioning exercise, you will start to identify Métis values and interests in relation to the NWMO’s proposed plans. The session will be approximately 2 hours long, and will be facilitated by a consultant retained by the MNO, Shared Value Solutions. Your involvement and input will help inform the MNO in future engagements with the NWMO. Prior to the session, you are asked to reflect on what specific issues, values and interests are of most concern to you. We invite you to prepare works of art, music or other expressions of your opinions about the NWMO project, which will be put on display during the community meetings and subsequent dialogue.
