Issues and Opportunities Analysis Training

  • Identify the top 2 issues perceived as potential impediments to further progress in consultation activities
    • Develop stepwise plan of action to address issues
    • Expected issues: boundary concerns, volume of requests, scheduling/timeframes.
      • LRC Coordinators to develop a list of issues within each region that they are aware of
    • Take away project: Engage local communities regarding their concerns about impacts to the Métis way of life and bring back to LRC. This information will help inform the LRC and Consultation Committees during consultation activities.
  • Identify the top 3 opportunities that provide the most promise for the region in terms of further progress in consultation activities
    • Develop stepwise plan of action to capitalize on opportunities. This can act as a lead-in to the Strategic Planning Training.
    • Prioritize current and upcoming consultation activities (projects)
      • Prior to training: LRC coordinators to provide a current list of projects open or upcoming, the status, and the goal of the project.
  • Discuss regional issues and opportunities above as a group (so that regions can learn from each other)
