The MÉTIS MEDICINE WALK will be facilitated by JOE PAQUETTE, President of the Métis Nation of Ontario Veteran’s Council, Métis Elder and Credit River Citizen.
Participants will join Joe on a guided journey of natural beauty and traditional MÉTIS KNOWLEDGE. Joe describes CRAWFORD LAKE as “an outstanding teaching venue” and encourages participants to come early or stay late to explore the IROQUOIS VILLAGE AND CENTRE.
Building knowledge of Métis health in our community is important to the Credit River Métis Council and the Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network. (LHIN).
- Visit the CREDIT RIVER MÉTIS COUNCIL CONSULTATION TRAILER which contains current and historical Métis cultural information and dis-play items you can touch and feel.
- Speak with the MÉTIS NATION OF ONTAR IO’S R EGION 8 HEALING and WELLNESS COORDINATOR.
- Visit the MISSISSAUG A HALTON LHIN’S Information display and speak with a LHIN REPRESENTATIVE about health initiatives in your community.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Conservation Rd. (formerly Steeles Ave.) and Guelph Line, 5 Km. south of Hwy 401 and 15 Km. north of the Q.E.W.
- THE MÉTIS MEDICINE WALK IS A FREE EVENT.
- NO HARVESTING WILL BE PERMITTED.
- PARTICIPANTS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH A FREE HEALTHY SNACK AND DRINK.
