A Work Readiness Training Program for Aboriginal Peoples

The Mining Essentials Program is divided between classroom training and enrichment activities that bring industry to life and contribute towards employability through site visits, hands-on activities, guest speakers, and/or certifications (safety certificate training, mine tour) as defined by the training site and their partners.

Ideal for learners who:

  • have a Grade 12 level or higher
  • are looking for practical skills that will help them get entry level employment
  • want to work at a mine close to their community, or
  • travel to other mines across Canada
  • want to learn workplace readiness skills through
  • traditional and Aboriginal teaching methods

This training is for Métis Citizens in the Region 3 area. It will take place at Northern College in Timmins, Ontario, on July 27.
