A Thanksgiving Message from the PCMNO
Thanksgiving is a special time to come together with loved ones, to count our blessings, and to express gratitude for all that we have, and all that we have achieved in the past year.
Like our ancestors, we share a deep connection and respect for the natural world and the many gifts it offers. As we celebrate the Otawn season, we are thankful for the fall harvest and the resources that provide for our people and inspire much of our unique Métis culture and ways of life.
Over the past year, the MNO has continued to build and enhance resources that will benefit and sustain our communities. New programs and services have been developed with great input from citizens.
This Thanksgiving we’d like to extend our gratitude to the many citizens who have consistently volunteered their time and talents to supporting the community and advancing Métis rights. We’d like to recognize the community leadership who have guided us through tumultuous times while leading with kindness and confidence, and for the staff working selflessly to ensure supports and services are informed, appropriate and accessible. There is much to be proud of and thankful for within the MNO.
On behalf of the Provisional Council of the Métis Nation of Ontario, thank you for your contributions to our community this past year and we extend best wishes to you and your family during this fall harvest.
Please stay safe and have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
