The MNO Niagara Region Métis Council (NRMC) held its annual Harvest Dinner in Welland on October 27th and as in the past, it was a resounding success. One hundred and fifty-three people attended and enjoyed a delicious meal served by the Culinary Arts students from Confederation High School in Welland. Additional delectables were also brought by local Métis from all over the Niagara area. MNO President Gary Lipinski attended and brought greetings as did MNO citizen and Welland City Councillor Paul Grenier. Grenier who represented the Mayor of Welland was accompanied by his fellow councillor Mark Karl. Entertainment from the Niagara Old Time Fiddlers had everyone’s toes tapping by the end of the evening. “All in all,” stated NRMC President Stephen Quesnelle, “it was a very successful evening and a great opportunity for everyone to socialize and share Métis culture.”
