Seeking Métis youth interested in attending provincial Riel Day ceremonies, Powley anniversary events and a one day engagement session (Nov. 15-16, Toronto, ON)

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) has limited funding to support Métis youth participation at the 2013 Riel Day and Powley Anniversary events in Toronto, Ontario on November 15 and to participate in a one day labour market engagement session on November 16.

If you are a Métis youth (18-29) interested in attending, please click here to view and download an expression of interest form.

Forms are to be returned to Guylaine Morin-Cleroux at guylainem@metisnation.org by October 23, 2013.

Applications will be reviewed on a first come first serve basis with a consideration given to the geographic and gender distribution of applicants.

In addition to the Riel Day ceremonies at Queen’s Park there will be a special panel on the Powley case to commemorate the 10th anniversary of this landmark victory for Métis rights.

The following day the MNO will be hosting a workshop entitled Métis Youth Ready to Work: Transitions to the Labour Market.

These two days offer a unique opportunity to connect with Métis history and culture, engage with other Métis youth, and develop new skills and experiences.

If you have any questions please contact Guylaine Morin Cleroux at 1-800-263-4889 X 116 for more information.
