We appreciate your interest in the Educational Resources Program. Due to the popularity of this program, we have reached maximum capacity and are no longer accepting new applicants.

The Educational Resources for Students Grade 7-12 is a one-time funding opportunity for Metis Nation of Ontario citizens in Grades 7-12.  The program provides reimbursement for supplies that help support student access.

Eligibility

  • The youth must be between 13 and 18 years old and currently attending elementary or secondary school.
  • The parent/guardian and youth must reside in the province of Ontario.
  • All youth 13-18 years must be included on the same application, duplicate applications for the same parent/guardian will not be accepted.
  • Completing the application does not guarantee acceptance into the 2023-2024 Educational Support Program.
  • Proof of identity will be required for all youth. Accepted forms of proof include:
    • Birth Certificate
    • Health Card
    • Passport
    • MNO Citizenship Card
  • Youth who are not listed on the application will NOT receive support.
  • The K-12 team is not responsible for purchases not within the program’s parameters, purchases made before April 1, 2023, and if  your application is not approved

Submissions Portal

The submission portal will be open between Feb 12, 2024 to March 8, 2024.  This portal will be the only method of submitting receipts to the program, no exceptions.

  • A minimum of $50 up to a maximum of $2,500 of receipts (per family) may be eligible
  • Receipts will be required for all items.
  • Multiple children can be included in the application.
  • For youth under 13 in this fiscal year, receipts must be dated AFTER the youth’s 13 birthday.
  • The activity/equipment must be solely for use by the youth.
  • Detailed receipts are requested to verify the equipment suits the youth.
  • When applying, please upload as many receipts as possible into one application; this ensures your application is processed promptly.
  • Reimbursement for any activity fees or equipment purchased is at the sole discretion of the MNO following an assessment of the completed application and additional requested clarifying information and supporting documentation.

This one-time program is offered through K-12 initiatives for the 2023-2024 year.  This fund is specific to youth who do not meet the ELCC criteria for funding. Youth must be between 13 and 18 and be in Grades 7-12 to receive the funds. 

You will receive a confirmation email that your application was received. Please ensure that the email address used to set up your account is active, belongs to you as the applicant, and is an email address you have ongoing access to.

If you set up your account using a social media site, please ensure the email address linked to that site is one that you have access to and can check quickly.

A minimum of $50 of receipts (per family) is required up to a maximum of $2,500.  Receipts will be reviewed case-by case, depending on the submitted amount. Should it be deemed that your request is beyond our scope to ensure all families are being served, you may be entitled to a partial reimbursement only.

Yes, the parent/guardian, or youth, must be an MNO citizen eligible for direct support.
