MNO seeking home care and long-term care users for supportive care research study

Do you utilize home care or long-term care services? Is this applicable to your parent or grandparent? Are you actively involved as a caregiver for someone receiving home care or long-term care?

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) and the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) would like to hear about your experiences and perceptions of home care and long-term care services. We are currently looking to recruit 12-16 home care / long-term care recipients or their caregivers, and 12-32 of family members to participate in this study.

To participate in the study you need to be:

      • 18+ years of age
      • an MNO citizen
      • a resident of Ontario
      • A recipient (or are the caregiver of a family member who is a recipient) of a provincially or federally-funded homecare/long-term care service both prior to the start of and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each home care/long-term care recipient or caregiver can invite 1-2 family members to participate in the study with them. These individuals will need to be 18+ and residents of Ontario. Stories shared with us during this research will help the MNO explore program options to help fill gaps in services and meet the needs of MNO citizens. If you have any questions, or are interested in participating, please email research@metisnation.org.

The study is funded by Indigenous Services Canada, led by the Métis Nation of Ontario and co-led by Métis Nation of Ontario’s Epidemiologist, Dr. Sarah Edwards sarah.edwards@ices.on.ca.
