The Métis Nation of Ontario’s (MNO) first television commercial will start airing on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) starting on Thursday, June 26 and will continue airing until the end of August. It will air during prime-time hours throughout the summer on some of APTN’s most popular programs.
The commercial promotes the MNO Métis Mining Strategy, a program that provides funding to support the training of Aboriginal people for careers in the mining industry.
“The mining industry is growing in Ontario,” commented MNO President Gary Lipinski, “and the MNO Métis Mining Strategy is one of the ways that the MNO is helping insure that Métis people and other Aboriginal people have the opportunity to participate in this important sector.”
The commercial features Denis St. Pierre who is currently training to become a heavy equipment operator with assistance from the MNO Métis Mining Strategy. Mr. St. Pierre speaks about his experience and the assistance the MNO was able to provide him.
