On July 13, 2017, Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) staff from MNO Renfrew office offered a Dot Painting and Métis Jigging Workshop to 64 children ranging from age 2 to 12 years old. The workshop took place at Garderie Les Petites Mains in Pembroke as part of its summer culture program. The children were taught the history behind dot painting and they all had the opportunity to create their own dot painting masterpieces.

The children were then taught the traditional Rabbit Dance. They were first instructed in individual steps before putting all the steps together and participating in a full traditional Rabbit Dance at the end of the workshop.

The young people were able to learn a little about the Métis Culture while also having a lot of fun!
