Métis & Energy Knowledge Symposium
June 21-22, 2024

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is pleased to announce the Métis & Energy Knowledge Symposium, hosted by the MNO Georgian Bay Traditional Consultation Committee and the MNO Lands, Resources and Consultation (LRC). The Symposium takes place from June 21-22, 2024 at the Blue Mountain Resort on the shores of Georgian Bay and is open to MNO citizens in Region 7.

Kicking off on National Indigenous Peoples Day, the event will feature a full weekend of celebration and learning. Including:

    • Friday, June 21, 4:45 to 9:00 PM: A Celebration of Métis Culture
      This evening is dedicated to embracing our rich Métis history through cultural activities, music, crafts, and a traditional Métis dinner. We are welcoming agencies, businesses, and stakeholders in the Ontario energy sector to share in the fun and foster new connections and understanding.
    • Saturday, June 22, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM : Métis & Energy Knowledge Symposium
      The Métis & Energy Knowledge Symposium offers a platform for conversation and collaboration among Métis citizens and energy sector stakeholders. Join us for engaging dialogue about Ontario’s energy landscape, including nuclear, renewables, and future projects. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

This special event is designed for all ages, and we encourage families to participate together! Immerse yourself in hands-on cultural activities and gain insights into the energy sector in Ontario.

Attendees who register and complete the sign-up questions by contacting TaylorM@metisnation.org  will receive a complimentary night stay at Blue Mountain Resort on Friday. Please note that it may take 1-2 business days for a response – we kindly ask that you refrain from sending multiple emails, as inquiries will be addressed on a first-come, first-served basis.
