This fall, leaves won’t be the only things changing! The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is pleased to announce that Otawn, the popular Fall Métis Youth Cultural Camp is returning, and it’s going online!

Otawn is a fall favourite for adventurous Métis youth, as it provides students (grades 10-12) the opportunity to learn on the land and celebrate Métis culture.

Like the previous seasonal youth workshop, Été, the Otawn youth camp will be hosted via Zoom and takes place October 23-25, 2020. Students from across the province will participate in three days of online workshops and programming, highlighting land-based knowledge, storytelling, cultural arts and community building.

While the format is different, the camp will still engage youth through interactions with Métis knowledge holders, MNO Senators, MNO staff and facilitators and offer opportunities to practice traditional skills and knowledge in their own communities.

Interested participants can access the MNO Application Portal at https://metisnation.smapply.io/. Spaces are limited, so be sure to register and complete the application as soon as possible!

The deadline for applications is Friday, October 9, 2020 at 11:59pm.
