Four Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Bursaries were awarded to students at Collège Boréal in Sudbury last week. The students who received the awards bursaries were Nancy Bouchard, Christopher Clément, Joëlle Lavoie and Natalie Venne. A ceremony presenting the awards was attended by several representatives of the Sudbury Métis Council including President Roger Giroux
.
Nancy Bouchard, Joëlle Lavoie and Christopher Clément also received Bursaries for Aboriginal postsecondary education and training at the same ceremony. These bursaries were also awarded to Mallory Brazeau and Robert Lee.
Collège Boréal has campuses in Sudbury, Timmins and New Liskeard and last November officially opened the Louis-Riel Centre in the heart of its main campus in Sudbury. It provides the college’s Métis and Aboriginal students with a wide range of services and an environment that is sensitive to their cultural identity and conducive to their academic success.
