On December 23, 2013 Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) citizen and Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer Sgt. Robert Baskey was presented with the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal for his service in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan in 2012.
The Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal acknowledges the unique contribution to peace that Canadian peacekeepers have made since 1947. The medal was presented to Sgt. Baskey by OPP Deputy Commissioner Brad Blair.
This is yet another example of the valuable contributions made by Métis for the betterment of Canada. Congratulations on this great achievement.
