covid care kit
Example of COVID Care Kit for high-risk household.

In an effort to manage and mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in our communities, the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is offering COVID Care Kits to Citizens and their families who are currently caring for a sick family member, or are considered a high risk household.

After extensive research and paying close attention to the advice of public health experts, the MNO and the COVID-19 Response Team have assembled special care packages comprised of essential items for use when caring for a sick family member. By staying informed and taking the proper precautions both in and outside of the home, we can help keep our communities safe and strong.

These COVID Care Kits are organized based on family size and interested Citizens can request kits for individuals, families of 2-4, and families of 5+. Included within the kits are personal protective equipment (PPE) and other resources to help you and your family manage during this pandemic.

Please note that COVID Care Kits and supplies are limited. Priority will be given to households currently caring for family members with COVID-19 or are otherwise considered high risk households.

If you or your family do not meet these conditions but are in urgent need of supplies or support, please contact the MNO’s COVID-19 Response Team.

Also included in the kits:

  • Masks
  • Gloves
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Thermometer
  • Symptom log/ notebook
  • Container of electrolyte powder
  • Factsheets for COVID-19 caregivers

The MNO recognizes we are living through an unprecedented time. COVID-19 has challenged not only our personal wellbeing, but the wellbeing of our households, communities and Nation. Yet, we at the MNO know that our people will continue to persevere, as we have throughout our history, and emerge stronger than before. Now is the time to look out for your family, as well as fellow community members, and the MNO is here to assist.
