June 6th 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day

On June 6th 1944, Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy (France) to open the way to Germany from the West. Victory in the Normandy campaign would come at a terrible cost. The Canadians suffered the most casualties of any division in the British Army Group.
On behalf of the MNO and Métis National Council, the MNO Veterans Council (MNOVC) President Brian Prairie will be representing Métis Veterans, attending ceremonies in France to honour and remember our Métis veterans who participated in D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
President Brian Prairie will also honour Métis Veterans who fought in the Battle of Normandy and is offering to visit and pay respects to fallen family members of MNO citizens. He will be visiting Two Canadian war cemeteries, Beny Sur-Mer and Brettevile-Sur-Laize.
If your family would like to request President Brain Prairie to pay his respects to your family member that may lay at rest at one of the cemeteries above, please complete the form below and be sure to include the full name and, if possible, their rank and service number.
You can also contact the MNOVC President directly by email.
