New research study invites MNO citizens to ‘Sharing Circles’ on COVID-19 experiences

Share your voice and help tell the story of how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the mental health and wellness of Métis in Ontario.

The Métis Nation of Ontario is conducting sharing circles and/or individual interviews about Métis citizens’ experiences with their mental health and wellness during and in the recovery period of the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to speak to all Métis citizens who are 18 years of age or older! We particularly encourage those who are 2-Spirit and LGBTQ+ to please consider participating. If you’re interested in participating in this research study, CLICK THIS LINK.

Your stories will inform part of a research study titled ‘Before and during COVID-19: the mental wellness of citizens of the Métis Nation ‘. Participating in this ground-breaking new research opportunity will provide researchers with valuable insights into how Métis communities have coped with ongoing changes, disruptions, and isolation caused by the pandemic; and the data collected will help inform new programs and services to improve mental wellness.

The study is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, led by the MNO and co-led by MNO’s Epidemiologist, Dr Sarah Edwards (sarah.edwards@ices.on.ca).
