Health Sciences Summer Camp
Thunder Bay & Sudbury
July 6-10, 2015
The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) maintains a commitment to providing information to rural, remote, Aboriginal and Francophone youth about health careers. Health Sciences Summer Camp at NOSM provides students with a unique opportunity to learn about professions in the health-care sector.
These week-long programs take place within the modern, technologically advanced settings of the medical laboratories on NOSM’s West Campus located at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, and the East Campus located at Laurentian University in Sudbury. The camps offer students with an opportunity to explore health-care careers. Our activities are designed to ensure there is a correlation between health care, intervention, and basic sciences.
The camp provides Northern Ontario students going into grade 10 and 11 (14-16 years of age) in September 2015 with an opportunity to explore Aboriginal culture, health and tradition, Francophone culture, health and tradition, health-care careers, obtain hands-on experience, and find a mentor.
