Peterborough & District Wapiti Metis Council (PDWMC) Annual General Meeting, held on March 24th at the Canadian Canoe Museum. MNO President Margaret Froh was in attendance to provide updates. PDWMC President Andy Dufrane also provided updates at the local level. The AGM also included giveaways and a lunch of traditional foods, including venison stew, bannock and jam.

Christa Lemelin, Chair of the Peterborough & District Wapiti Metis Council attended a roundtable discussion on the theme of Water and the Environment in the age of Climate Change on April 3, 2019. She was delighted to meet Lieutenant Governor of Ontario the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell and Peterborough Mayor Diane Therrien.

Peterborough & District Wapiti Metis Council held a paddle carving workshop at the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough on February 28th. Jasmine Rose from the Museum facilitated.

Peterborough & District Wapiti Metis Council held a Moccasin workshop on March 9th at Trent University’s First People’s House of Learning Gathering Space. The workshop was facilitated by Women’s Rep for the MNO Clear Waters Metis Counciln Tobias Clarke. There were approximately 15 people in attendance for the day.
