From September 28-30, the Métis Nation of British Columbia (MNBC) held their 16th Annual General Meeting in Richmond, British Columbia.

As is tradition, Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) President Gary Lipinski was among the invited dignities that attended and provided welcoming remarks.

One of the highlights of meeting was the first ringing of the Marie Antoinette “the Bell of Batoche” in British Columbia. MNBC Regional Director Marilynn Taylor, a direct descendant of the Caron’s and Fayant’s of Batoche was selected to be the first Métis citizen in British Columbia to ring Marie.
