Climate change continues to impact communities across Ontario, the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is developing a new, province-wide Climate Change Strategy that will reflect the voices and experiences of Métis citizens.

To create a strategy that reflects the values and priorities of its people, the MNO is asking citizens to share their personal stories and views on climate change. The Climate Change Strategy will show how Métis communities are connected to the environment, affected by climate change, and involved in efforts to address these challenges for the benefit of current and future generations. Citizens are invited to submit stories under three main themes that explore these topics.

To participate, citizens will need to provide their citizenship number and consent to a citizenship check when submitting their stories. Submissions will be accepted until December 4, 2024. As a gesture of appreciation, all participants will receive a $5 Tim Hortons gift card for each story they share.

This is an opportunity for Métis citizens to contribute to a meaningful initiative that aims to influence policy and demonstrate the MNO’s leadership in addressing climate change.
