General Accountability

The Associate Activator, Community Tour is responsible for engaging and interacting with patrons of the TO2015 Community Tour. The TO2015 Community Tour provides communities with an opportunity to learn about the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games through local festivals and events. Tour visitors can discover how to get involved in the Games, try their hand at sports and learn about the athletes and their achievements.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Promote the TO2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games
  • Engaging with events’ attendees and sharing Games’ fast facts
  • Working with interactive sport activities and Tour materials
  • Activating tour zones including information tent, sports achievement records / equipment, interactive sports inflatables
  • Set-Up and tear-down of equipment at events
  • Assist with promotion, execution and evaluation of activations
  • Ability to work long/irregular hours during peak periods, weekends and holidays
  • Other responsibilities / tasks related to the tour

  • General public, Community Organizations

Educational/Technical Requirements

  • Must have a keen interest in sports/recreation; marketing/public relations and community development
  • Previous experience planning and/or executing events

Personal Requirements

  • Ability to work long/irregular hours during peak periods, weekends and holidays
  • Exceptional customer service and promotion skills and be able to provide information in a friendly and approachable manner
  • Not afraid to speak in front of crowds
  • Self motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative problem-solver with highly developed diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Professional, responsible and punctual
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be comfortable with some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs)
  • Frequent travel is required
