The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is pleased to offer the Job Shadow Program. The goal of this Program is to provide participants with on the job employment experiences to assist them with career decision making. Through this Program participants will be provided with on the job training that is geared towards the participant’s targeted career goals. Participants will be matched with career goal oriented specific employers.

This Program is available to Métis individuals who are either unemployed, under-employed, or whose employment is at risk due to labour market changes, insufficient employment skills, or certification. The training that is provided through the Program must relate directly to the participant’s employment goals and must meet the needs of both the client and the industry or labour market that is being served.

The sponsoring employer must possess the appropriate qualifications and expertise to develop, implement, and manage the project. Proof of third party liability coverage is mandatory. Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (Workers’ Compensation or equivalent) insurance coverage must be provided by the employer for participants in accordance with, and where required by provincial regulations. Staffing must be tied directly to the project and cannot replace permanent staff.
