The MNO is pleased to offer eligible Post-Secondary Education Students access to the MNO’s Post-Secondary Education (PSE) Travel Support Program. This initiative will provide eligible applicants with a one-time travel subsidy to assist with the costs of travel to school. To be eligible for this program an applicant must:
Currently be a Métis student enrolled into an accredited post-secondary program at a recognized University or College in Ontario
Be required to travel more than 300 kilometers, one way, to their Post-Secondary Institution
Be a MNO citizen or have a letter of eligibility from the MNO Registry
Travel subsidies are determined by using a rate of $0.57/km for a maximum one-time subsidy of up to $500 and are available on a first come first served basis until available funding is allocated.
If you need any support navigating services at your Post-Secondary Institution or have any questions about this program please direct any questions to psesupport@metisnation.org
No, this is a one-time subsidy designed to offset some of the costs of having to travel to attend school and can only be accessed by eligible applicants one time.
It depends. This one-time subsidy is available to eligible applicants that are required to travel over 300KM to attend school. When and how they chose to allocate these funds is at the applicants’ discretion.
