The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) offers the Anti-Human Trafficking (AHT) Program to help those affected or at risk of human trafficking. Human trafficking is when people are recruited, moved, or held against their will for labour or sex.
AHT Coordinators focus on helping those at risk or already affected by trafficking. They work to improve community support by forming partnerships and providing resources and training to raise awareness about human trafficking.
The program is Métis focused, trauma-informed, and work from a harm reduction perspective.
Whether you are seeking support for yourself, a family member, or someone in your community, the Anti-Human Trafficking Program is here to provide compassionate, culturally grounded support every step of the way.
How We Help
Our Anti-Human Trafficking Coordinators provide:
- Individualized support for those at risk of or experiencing trafficking
- Safety planning and advocacy
- Connections to community resources and services
- Referrals to culturally relevant supports
- Education and awareness training
- Community partnership development
Willows Drop-In Program
The MNO Anti-Human Trafficking Program offers a regular drop-in called Willows for those involved
in the sex trade in the Vanier area of Ottawa. Willows includes:
- Harm reduction supplies
- Supports with basic needs for health and wellbeing
- Peer support and connection
- Referrals to community services
- Cultural support
All services provided through the Willows Drop-In Program are completely confidential.
