The Culture Kit is for Métis Nation of Ontario families with children aged 0 to 12 years. Packed with diverse activities, materials, and resources, our specially curated kits are designed for Métis children (aged 0-12) to fortify their bond with Métis culture. The Culture Kit includes four themed “mini-kits” encompassing many aspects of the Métis way of life: Nature, Infinite Creativity, Kitchen Party, and Beading. These mini-kits also include a resource document to help guide your family as you learn.

For applicants to be eligible, they must meet the below criteria. 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • One parent, legal guardian, or child must be a Métis Nation of Ontario citizen eligible for direct benefits.
  • Proof of Métis Nation of Ontario citizenship will be required when completing the application.
  • Must reside in Ontario.
  • Must be between the ages of 0 (born in 2023) and 12 (must be 12 years old on or before March 31, 2024).

Other Considerations:

  • Submission of an application does not guarantee you will receive a kit.
  • All applicants will receive an e-mail update regarding their application status once all applications have been reviewed.
  • Due to limited capacity, priority will be given to families who did not previously receive the STEM Kit distributed in March 2023. If you are unsure if you received a STEM Kit, please e-mail elccevents@metisnation.org
  • Please note that there are no substitutions of items.
  • Physical addresses will be required for delivery as the program is shipped through Purolator and does not deliver to P.O. boxes.

The program will be ready for distribution in March 2024. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the Culture Kit to be delivered. To sign up to receive your Culture Kit, please apply using the button below.
