June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day! A day to acknowledge and honour the histories, culture, and achievements of Métis, First Nations and Inuit peoples. Check-out the list below for events affiliated with the MNO or MNO Community Councils.
Details: This free event will showcase the rich history and vibrant traditions of the Métis people through cultural performances, traditional cuisine, and interactive workshops.
Location: Earl Haig Family Fun Park (101 Market St. S., Brantford)
Details: This free event will include performances by Indigenous drummers, singers, and dancers, food stalls, craft booths, various cultural activities, and a lacrosse demonstration.
City of Guelph Hosts Nation Celebration of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples
Date: Friday, June 20, 2025, 5:30p.m.
Location: Riverside Park (709 Woolwich St., Guelph)
Details: This year’s event includes a headlining performance by Oneida Wolf Clan, Six Nations singer/songwriter Lacey Hill; First Nations drummers and dancers; Inuit drummers; Métis jigging; food for purchase from Sista’s MexiKanata and PowWow Café; and artisanal and informational booths.

Details: The Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival (SSIF) is an annual multi-disciplinary arts festival that brings together Indigenous artists, performers, educators, students, and community members to share knowledge, foster understanding, and celebrate the richness of Canada’s Indigenous cultures.
