The Métis Nation of Ontario’s Annual General Assembly (“AGA”) is Métis self-government in action. Every year, MNO leadership and citizens from Métis communities across Ontario gather to make their voices heard, review the past year’s successes, and set a course for the coming year.
This year, AGA 2026 is being held at Fort William Historical Park in beautiful Thunder Bay,
All Métis citizens are encouraged to participate in our Annual General Assembly. As always, the event will kick off on Thursday night with the celebratory canoe arrival and President’s welcome with official business being conducted throughout the weekend. This year’s assembly will be with filled lots of exciting activities for citizens of all ages including Camp AGA, the Kooshkopayiw Métis Art Council Exhibit, vendor fairs, a gala dinner and more!
The Métis Nation of Ontario’s Early Learning and Child Care Team proudly offers a day camp at the 2026 Annual General Assembly. Child care is provided to children ages 0-12 for family members attending the AGA in an MNO Citizen, MNO Delegate, or MNO Staff capacity. Camp AGA is a day camp available during the day for the duration of the AGA.
Note: After completing your registration for the AGA, you will receive a link to register your children for Camp AGA.

This year, the 10th Annual Youth Leadership Conference (YLC) will be held in person on Tuesday, August 11th and Wednesday, August 12th at the Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre in Thunder Bay. Youth will also have the opportunity to expand their leadership experience by staying for the Métis Nation of Ontario Annual General Assembly (AGA), taking place from August 13th to 16th.
The application is only for verified MNO citizens between the ages of 16–29. Youth under the age of 18 will require an adult chaperone. The YLC admin team will follow up with those youth for additional information once applications are accepted.
Applicants will be contacted by the YLC Admin Team regarding the status of their application by end of June 2026. Space is limited.
Registration closes Friday, June 19th, 2026.
