MNO Seeking Citizens to Serve on Boards of Directors

The Métis Nation of Ontario is inviting citizens with leadership, governance, and community experience to apply for positions on two Boards of Directors supporting Métis early learning, child care, and land-based programming in Ontario.

Opportunities are currently available with the Métis Early Learning Inc. (MELI) Board of Directors and the Burk’s Falls Métis Outdoor Centre Board of Directors.

The MELI Board provides strategic governance and oversight for MNO Early Learning and Child Care Centres in Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, and Penetanguishene. Board members help ensure the centres provide safe, high-quality, and culturally grounded early learning environments that reflect Métis values, family needs, and community priorities.

The Burk’s Falls Métis Outdoor Centre Board provides strategic oversight and helps guide the Centre’s cultural and operational integrity and long-term sustainability. Members contribute to governance leadership, financial oversight, policy stewardship, and community accountability.

Applicants for both opportunities must be MNO citizens in good standing, demonstrate relevant leadership, governance, or community experience, and be able to attend regular meetings and participate in committee work. Applicants should also demonstrate a commitment to Métis values, cultural humility, and ethical decision-making.

Applications require a completed application form, responses to competency questions, a conflict-of-interest disclosure, and two references. Applicants may also submit a resume or CV.
