The Métis Nation of Ontario’s Annual General Assembly (“AGA”) is Métis self-government in action. Every year, MNO leadership and citizens from Métis communities across Ontario gather to make their voices heard, review the past year’s successes, and set a course for the coming year. This year, AGA 2025 is being held at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion in beautiful Sault Ste. Marie, the home of the landmark Powley Case, a Supreme Court decision which changed the Metis rights landscape for all Métis Ontario westward.
AGA 2025 is being held at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion and the Delta Waterfront Hotel in beautiful Sault Ste. Marie from August 15 to 17, 2025. All Métis citizens are encouraged to participate. As always, the event will kick off on Thursday night with a President’s Welcome and Canoe arrival, with lots of exciting activities to follow throughout the weekend including children’s activities at Camp AGA, the Kooshkopayiw Métis Art Council Exhibit, vendor fairs, a gala dinner and more!
The Métis Nation of Ontario’s Early Learning and Child Care Team proudly offers a day camp at the 2025 Annual General Assembly on August 15th, 16th, and 17th, 2025, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Camp AGA is a day camp available during the day for the duration of the AGA.
Child care is provided to children ages 0-12, with family members attending the AGA in a Métis Nation of Ontario Citizen, MNO Delegate, or MNO Staff capacity.

This year, the 9th Annual Youth Leadership Conference (YLC) will centre on the theme of storytelling. Hosted by the MNO Youth council, registrants will participate in a variety of workshops and land-based learning opportunities that explore the power of stories in Métis culture and identity. Through collaboration with Métis community members from across the homeland, we aim to create a space for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and celebration of the rich, diverse stories that define and connect us as Métis people.
The following application is for verified MNO citizens between the ages of 16–29. Youth under the age of 18 will require an adult chaperone. The YLC admin team will follow up with those youth for additional information once applications are accepted.
Applicants will be contacted by the YLC Admin Team regarding the status of their application by end of June 2025. Space is limited.
Registration closes June 13th, 2025.
