A Legacy of Service:
Celebrating Nicole Charron’s Remarkable 25 Years with the MNO

Since joining the Métis Nation of Ontario’s Education and Training Branch in 2000, Nicole Charron has guided hundreds of Métis individuals along their education, training, and employment pathways—always with compassion, deep local knowledge and grounded in Métis values. This month, she marks an incredible milestone: 25 years of service to Métis citizens across MNO Region 3.

From her early years in Timmins onward, Nicole has anchored her work in the unique needs and strengths of the northern Métis community—building trusted relationships, adapting programs to changing labour market conditions, and supporting clients at every stage of their career journey. Her work has helped the MNO respond to emerging opportunities in sectors such as mining, construction, tourism, and apprenticeships, ensuring Métis clients are never left behind.

“As we honour Nicole’s 25-year milestone, we celebrate more than just years of service. We honour a legacy of relationships and sustained community impact,” says Bryanna Scott-Kay, Director of Education and Training for the MNO. “Nicole’s deep connection to Timmins and MNO Region 3, her consistent guidance of clients, and her support of career journeys across changing times make this a moment of recognition and pride.”

This recognition highlights both Nicole’s personal achievement and the ongoing importance of culturally grounded employment services for Métis people in Ontario. Please join the Métis Nation of Ontario in congratulating Nicole Charron on 25 years of dedicated service. Maarsii, Nicole, for your commitment, your spirit, and your enduring contribution to Métis citizens across the province.
