Métis Early Learning Fall Family Camp 2025

Métis families are invited to apply for the Métis Nation of Ontario’s 2025 Fall In-Person Family Camp, happening October 2–5 at the Canadian Ecology Centre in Mattawa, ON.
 
Hosted by the MNO’s Early Learning and Child Care team, this camp offers Métis families a chance to connect, learn, and explore Métis culture together. All travel, meals, and accommodations for selected families will be fully covered by the MNO.
 
During in-person family camps, Métis families engage in activities that demonstrate respect for the land, teach early learners about Métis way of life, and connect with other Métis families from across Ontario.
 
Each family will have a private cabin that can accommodate up to six people. Some cabins include two double beds and a single top bunk, while others have three sets of single bunk beds. Families are welcome to bring older siblings and children under the age of three. Those with infants or toddlers are encouraged to bring a playpen.
 
To be eligible for the Fall Family Camp, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Reside in Ontario.
  • One parent/guardian or grandparent(s) must be a MNO citizen. Grandparents applying to attend camp with their grandchild(ren) must have written consent from the parent/guardian of the child(ren) attending.
  • Have at least one child or grandchild between 3-12 years old.
  • The parent/guardian or grandparent and one (1) additional adult must be able to attend the entire duration of camp and actively participate in camp activities with children or grandchildren.
  • Interest in learning about Métis history, culture, and way of life, and willing to participate in indoor and outdoor learning.
Space for the camp is limited. Applications will be accepted from July 7 to July 21, 2025, until 11:59 PM. To apply, families must complete and submit the online application form using the link provided below.
 
All applicants will be notified by August 5, 2025, via email, regarding whether they have been accepted to attend the camp or placed on the waitlist. Apply Here.
