MNO Driver Licence/Education Funding Program- Apply Now!

Reliable transportation is a significant element in securing and maintaining employment—especially for Métis citizens residing in rural, remote, or underserved areas. To address these challenges, the MNO has opened the application for the Driver’s Licence/Education Funding Program, removing barriers to employment by investing in driver education.

The program reimburses MNO citizens for eligible driver’s licence expenses, including testing and education fees. Available first come, first served until March 13, 2026, or until budget is committed.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Eligibility: Must be an MNO citizen, ages 15.5+, Ontario resident, with a valid SIN.
• Career Focus: Must show how a driver’s licence improves job prospects.
• Timing: Reimbursements apply to tests/courses taken after April 1, 2025 with valid receipts.
• Personal Participation: The applicant must be the individual taking the driver’s test or education course and should have an active bank account for reimbursement purposes.
• Ontario-Based: Expenses must be for Ontario driver education or licence fees.
