MNO welcomes collaboration agreement between Métis governments

Edmonton, AB/Ottawa, ON—The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) welcomes the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Métis National Council (MNC) and the Northwest Territories Métis Nation (NWTMN).

The agreement establishes a framework for dialogue and collaboration intended to strengthen cooperation between Métis governments and support work on shared priorities. The MNO sees value in dialogue and joint efforts among Métis governments as they work to advance shared interests and address issues affecting their citizens and communities. Agreements like this help create space for ongoing relationship-building and collaboration on issues of shared concern.

“This agreement is a positive step in strengthening relationships between Métis governments. It creates space for continued dialogue and collaboration on shared priorities, and the Métis Nation of Ontario looks forward to those conversations with Métis partners,” said MNO President Margaret Froh.
